Bishop O.G. Simpson

Bishop O.G. Simpson was born on November 19, 1946 in St. Elizabeth Jamaica, the 5th of six (6) children born to Joseph and Clare Simpson.  Bishop migrated to Wolverhampton, England, UK in 1965, at just eighteen (18) years old.  He would remain in England until 1977, when he was anointed and appointed to serve as Pastor of Bethel United Apostolic Church, in Edmonton, Canada. Bishop Simpson, his wife and 2 young sons migrated to Canada and there he would begin his work in the ministry.

On July 4th, 1970, a few years before relocating to Canada, Bishop Simpson and the late Pearline Lyleith Simpson were united in Holy Matrimony, a union that would produce three (3) musically gifted children, Wayne (Muriel), Barrington (Geraldine) and Genieve (born in Canada) and three (3) equally talented grandchildren, Olivia, Shalice and JoVaughan.  Bishop Simpson is a man who knows the pain of sudden losses, having lost both parents before he was 10 years old, his first wife Evangelist P. Simpson in 2005 and his eldest son, Wayne in 2013.  Despite his grief, he has maintained his confidence in God, and his commitment to the work to which he has been called.

Bishop Simpson is the quintessential peacekeeper, a humble man with wisdom and integrity, a visionary with great business acumen.  Under his leadership, the Bethel Organization in Western Canada has expanded to include, Surrey, British Columbia (1991), Regina, Saskatchewan (1999), Stony Plain, Alberta (2016) and most recently, the Yukon Territory (2019).  Bishop Simpson served as the Senior Pastor of Bethel Edmonton, supported by his wife, Evangelist Eliza Simpson, (married on May 30, 2009), a diverse leadership team and saints, until his retirement June 30th, 2020.  He remains Bishop and leader of the Western District.
